- ·A scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address when you use Ben, which we store only to apply fair daily usage limits. We cannot read your IP address back from it
- ·Technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited (via analytics)
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your personal data to:

- ·Answer your questions through Ben, our AI assistant, and review those conversations so we can check its answers are accurate and improve them
- ·Communicate with you about our services
- ·Improve our website and user experience
- ·Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your data based on: (a) your consent when you submit an enquiry form, (b) our legitimate interest in providing and improving our services, and (c) compliance with legal obligations.
5. Data Sharing
We may share your information with third-party lenders and financial institutions as part of sourcing finance on your behalf. We will always inform you before sharing your data with any lender. Enquiry details you submit are stored in our own secure customer-relationship system, and we use Brevo to notify our team of new enquiries; Brevo processes this data in accordance with their privacy policy.
Ben, our AI assistant, is powered by a third-party AI model provided by Google. When you send Ben a message, the text of that message is sent to Google to generate the reply, and Google processes it in accordance with their privacy policy. Your conversation is stored in our own systems so you can pick it up again on the same device and so we can review the quality of Ben’s answers. We do not pass your conversation to any lender unless you ask us to source finance for you, in which case the normal rule above applies and we will tell you first. Please treat a chat with Ben the way you would treat an email to us. Do not type anything you would not be comfortable sending us that way, and never share bank details, card numbers or passwords.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. Enquiry data is typically retained for up to 24 months. Conversations with Ben are retained for up to 12 months. If a conversation did not lead to an enquiry, we do not use it to contact you.
